Showers: Clear Your Head
Showering is a great coping skill when you have access to one. Showering is a positive way to clear your head or just reflect on your day. This can also help when you're having a heated argument with your partner(s), friend(s), or family.
Showering allows you to distance yourself from the situation and clear your head. You can get a new perspective and cool down from the argument. Sometimes we get too wrapped up in the anger and sadness that comes with disagreements. We end up saying things we regret.
By using this unique coping skill you'll be able to decrease the chances of ruining relationships and saying things you'd regret. It lets us take a moment to breathe and remember that these people love us and we love them. (Unless, of course, you're dealing with abuse.)
Showering is not only good for augments, it also helps you reflect on your day and take a moment to think. A warm shower is usually a positive experience and productive. It can be hard to do anything when dealing with depression so don't compare yourself. Sometimes just continuing to breathe is hard enough. Take pride you've made it this far.
Happy coping!
